At NVU UK Academy, our mission is to deliver Educational Excellence in undergraduate and postgraduate medical education.
Founded in July 2025 by Professor Rajesh Varma and Professor Tham Nimal-Raj, the Academy operates as an arms-length educational body under the umbrella of New Vision University (NVU). Through this strategic partnership, we are committed to advancing medical learning, fostering research, and building meaningful educational collaborations in the United Kingdom.
Our current and planned initiatives include:

Each event combines core cardiometabolic/diabetes content with rotating sessions in women’s health, oncology, mental health, neurology, respiratory medicine, and future therapies.

This is a hybrid course delivered part virtual and part face-to-face.
- GMC PLAB Part 1: We aim to run a 60-hour duration, composed of 16 virtual 3-hour duration tutorials on all of the key topics for GMC PLAB Part 1.
Included will be lessons devoted to:
- The application procedure for securing UK GMC Provision Registration (Roadmap) and how to maximally optimise your CV to compete for UK Specialty Training Posts.
- Understanding the guidance on the new UK Government Medical Prioritisation Bill, and the implications for students who wish to apply for UK medical training posts.
- GMC PLAB Part 2: We aim to run THREE intensive 2-week duration face-to-face courses to teach GMC PLAB Part 2 at New Vision University Eco Campus, Tbilisi, Georgia. This will include all skills relevant to the PLAB 2 OSCE syllabus, including clinical consultations, clinical examination skills, breaking bad news, safeguarding, and all practical procedures. To ensure the course matches the highest learning gain, tutor-to-student ratios will be kept to a minimum to ensure optimum real-time expert tutor-led feedback.NVU Postgraduate Certificate courses in Cardiovascular-Renal-Metabolic medicine (CVRM), which include Diabetes.
Attendance restricted to UK-registered HCPs. Sponsored via educational grant.
Bespoke training delivered through flexible part-time online taught modules.
Each PG Certificate is delivered through four stackable micro-credential modules; each module is 15 credits; completed together, they “stack” into a full 60-credit PGCert aligned with UK Higher Education standards.
This stackable design allows busy clinicians to progress at their own pace.
We aim to start this course in June 2026.
